about
DEFINITION AND ETYMOLOGY OF THE NAME:
The name, Branch of Concord, is first, partially derived and conceptually formed by taking inspiration from one of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War (April 19, 1775).
“The Branch” has a two-fold meaning; the first is in symbolic reference to an extension limb of the tree of human endeavors and history. Specifically, that significant limb dating to the 18th. Century - out of which the leaves of The Enlightenment sprouted forth - as this was this movement which gave rise to the principles of true democratic freedom and the concept of Universal Human Rights on a large scale.
As these important principles were integral to inspiring the American founding fathers, it seems only appropriate that a renewal of these principles be part of a new beginning.
Further, “the branch” is a symbolic offering (akin to the olive branch) of peace, Universal Brotherhood and a facet of inclusion to (any) others to be under the canopy of the tree of Liberty.
The word “Concord”, in addition to the Revolutionary War battle reference, being by definition of “in agreement”.
Thus, a branch offered in concord, is an offering to the people in the spirit of community and the common good. The goal is to provide a place and a vehicle for all like-minded citizens, across the broad center of American political beliefs, to form a national consensus, direction and ideal...once again.

Who is Punky Doodle Dandy?
Punky D. is of course a pseudonym for the creator behind the concept for the Branch of Concord.
An American expat of middle age living abroad temporarily, he is a family man who has (along with everyone else) witnessed with horror the rapid mutation, corrosion and implosion of the America in which he grew up. Feeling incredulous, angry and deeply sad, he would like America to find its soul again and to be an America worth coming back for.
The idea for the Branch of Concord was born out of these conditions.
Although he is firmly American, he also considers himself a global citizen. While living abroad, he has been proactive to represent the best of what America stands for. However, in recent years, he feels great shame and embarrassment to be seen and known as an American due to the new reputation and global perceptions arising from the highly regressive and destructive American government.
Punky D. holds no desires or aims for political office or active leadership of any kind. He maintains that he is just an American patriot with a vision to share. Nevertheless, he sincerely wants to contribute to the cause of America and its historically proclaimed ideals.
